“LePage leaves…” after who sees “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”

“Only God and the people of Maine will tell me how to vote”

Dear Sarah and Angus King for US Senate campaign:

Thought you might be interested in this line of thought

Why not update your flyer title from “Only the people of Maine will tell me how to vote” to instead read –

“Only the people of Maine and my conscience will tell me how to vote”

That avoids the first amendment “establishment” objections of secular people regarding the use of the word ‘God’ in matters of government.

[[Truck door. Ignition]] I would use the word ‘God’ as originally suggested yesterday,

“Only God and the people of Maine will tell me how to vote”,

but as I said yesterday there is a lot of divisive baggage associated with the word God,
and unless it’s really important to a candidate to make clear his, or her, submission to God,
most people avoid using the word except in traditional moments of marriage, death, etc.

The line of logic would progress as follows:

“Only the people of Maine and my conscience will tell me how to vote”

The People of Maine have a good track record regarding what is best for the state of Maine.
In… you wanted… and you got it, and as a result…
In… you wanted… but you didn’t get it, and as a result…
In…

As to my conscience, you know from my decisions as Governor of Maine regarding…
and… and… I honor the US Constitution and the higher authority from which it derives.

THEN
As the campaign progresses, cite one, or more, examples from the 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winning biography Profiles in Courage which describes acts of bravery and integrity by eight United States Senators throughout the Senate’s history – AND link said examples to current US Senators from the cited States, or Senators who are now facing similar decisions on what issues… and show how the Independence of Angus King can best move Maine closer toward the one, 100% independence, the one self sufficiency who, or why, sustains us all.

Also identifying a false solutions as a “golden calf” or referring to that category as “golden calves” would underline the importance of electing a US Senator with a conscience as well as a commitment to constituents.

Traditionally, God, country, and family (or in this case State) are the order of the chain of command of our “…more perfect Union”

When, The Great North Woods State of Maine elects legislators, executives, and judges who adhere to the chain of command of “God, country, family (or state)” – in that order, THEN the elected and appointed officials of the federal government and OTHER states in our “…more perfect Union” will recognize Maine officials and Maine citizens as LEADERS for our entire Union, and the world at large and reward that leadership by making sure issues important to Maine are successfully resolved, not only as role models for others, but also as a reward for resolving problems at the federal and international levels. Isn’t that right? Or is Orwell’s Animal Farm where the pigs work the horses to death when the animals take over the farm the underlying reality which cannot be changed by Maine, or ANY state in our “…more perfect Union”?

Truly,

W. Hale, aka, haji Mohammed Omar

“Respond and seek responses,”

PS.
The above line of though arises out of our conversation at your Presque Isle campaign headquarters yesterday, Sarah.
Perhaps you might attract volunteers by offering a competition for them to “fill in the blanks”, and / or offer their own strategies, and then round up their friends to make the calls and send the emails for your campaign.
Perhaps an Angus King crossword puzzle feature in “the Bangor Daily News’ would attract volunteers and voters to your cause.
Again, I underline my desire to be recognized as a write in candidate for the US Senate Seat of the Great State of Maine, but as I said, I do not feel I know the territory well enough yet to qualify to win, but a good showing would help me in my national and international volunteer work, and AGAIN, the Olympic Badminton team disqualifications for not doing their best to win so they would get an easier match they were more likely to win in the next round also comes to mind, and I want to be sure people know I am doing my best, but I simply do not expect to win.

PPS.

Therefore, a contest to award prizes to the ten best Angus King jokes – which convey the principles and issues for which he stands might recruit volunteers.
